YES, exactly. I was once in a political chat room. As conservatives were bashing liberals, I typed "Tell me ANYTHING that liberals have done wrong and the effect it has, and I can tell you something conservatives have done with the SAME effect, but to a worse degree". Everything else I had said to them ended in an uproar, but suddenly they fell silent and started chanting their same old slogans again. Noone "needs to be greatful" about anything they didn't ask for, including security. If you slab down 50 pounds of pork meat at a Jewish temple, should they have to "be greatful" that you gave them food? NO, they didn't ask for it! You desecrated their temple!
Likewise, they have desecrated our constitution and our freedom through a dirty slab of "security" that really doesn't keep us safe from anyone but "ourselves". Well I love myself, know I do good for myself and society as much as I can, don't wish anyone death but Osama Bin Laden HIMSELF, not random people with brown skin or otherwise who the government doesn't like. And I don't need this security, how about the security of not being victimized by Bubba in cell B15 for the rest of one's life because the government "Said" they were a threat.
I agree completely. I once asked same thing in a slightly different manner. " Could you tell me one postive thing accomplished by Republican legislators and the Bush Administration in the last 71/2 years. I am still waiting.
